through old Kadath I crawled
three torrid summers long
searching for the elusive
lost city of Celephaïs

her rooftops glistened
like pools of molten gold
the smells of lilacs, roses
and jasmine permeated her

her streets were marble
ornate doors beckoned me
to come in and enjoy
her sweet, sweet flesh

pain exploded in my chest
her glacially cold breath
filled the air with the
sugary fragrance of death
